Geely is innovating with its i-HEV hybrid technology

Geely Automobile Holdings has unveiled its intelligent i-HEV hybrid technology, aiming to revolutionize the gasoline car market currently dominated by existing hybrid systems. This technology combines AI-driven energy management with a powerful electric motor and a high-efficiency internal combustion engine, achieving a thermal efficiency of 48.41%, the highest to date. In a test drive, the Geely Emgrand i-HEV achieved a record fuel consumption of 2.22 L/100 km.

Geely's i-HEV system enables electric propulsion for 80% of the WLTC cycle and boasts a 10-millisecond traction response. Its energy platform optimizes driving efficiency, improving overall fuel efficiency by more than 10%. The system also incorporates power redundancy and intelligent features. Geely plans to deploy this technology across various models, including internationally.
