GBI Group Launches Construction of SMARTments Connect Serviced Apartments in Bielefeld

Bielefeld/Berlin, 25.04.2024 - GBI Group has initiated construction of a new serviced apartment project named SMARTments connect in Bielefeld, located strategically at the central railway station. This project, set to complete by next year's end, will feature 223 units tailored for both short and extended stays, targeting young professionals and city explorers.

The serviced apartments will boast a community kitchen on the top floor, accessible to all residents 24/7 without charge, and will offer panoramic views of the city from a south-facing balcony. The apartments are designed to promote comfort and community interaction, providing co-working spaces and venues for social engagements and events.

Bielefeld’s Mayor, Pit Clausen, highlighted the property’s significance during the foundation stone ceremony, noting its potential to enhance the area around the main railway station. The construction emphasizes sustainable practices, including high energy efficiency standards and the use of recycled materials and reduced concrete volumes. The project aims to achieve DGNB Gold pre-certification, underlining GBI Group's commitment to sustainable building.

This project marks the second installation of SMARTments connect in Germany, following the brand’s expansion after opening another facility in Frankfurt. The company projects future growth, planning to double its apartment offerings to reach around 5,000 units nationwide, in response to strong market demand.
