GA-ASI Mojave UAS Demonstrates Capabilities in Yuma Live-Fire Test

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) successfully conducted a live-fire demonstration of its Mojave Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) on April 13, 2024, at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona. The UAS demonstrated effective target engagement, executing seven flight passes and discharging approximately 10,000 rounds. This test confirmed the Mojave's diverse combat capabilities and marked a significant validation of its role on the battlefield.

In collaboration with Dillon Aero, GA-ASI equipped the Mojave with two DAP-6 Gun Pod Systems, enhancing its firepower for the demonstration. The Mojave UAS is designed with a short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability, allowing it to operate from both traditional and unimproved landing sites, including aircraft carriers. This feature was previously showcased in November 2023 during trials with the UK's Royal Navy.

David R. Alexander, President of GA-ASI, highlighted the multifunctional nature of the Mojave, describing it as capable of acting as a sensor, shooter, and sustainer, thus preserving human lives while managing threat environments. The demonstration, backed by GA-ASI’s own research and development resources, reflects the UAS's potential in modern military strategies. Moreover, the Mojave shares systems with the Gray Eagle 25M, indicating interoperability and enhanced capabilities for future missions.
