FUCHS Acquires Boss Lubricants for Specialty Growth
On January 9, 2025, the FUCHS Group announced the acquisition of German company Boss Lubricants GmbH & Co. KG. Based in Albstadt, this family-run business specializes in lubricants for medical, safety, metalworking, and mechanical engineering sectors. FUCHS, a global player in lubricants, seeks to enhance its specialty business and explore new growth opportunities with this acquisition.
Boss Lubricants, focusing mainly on the German market, will continue operating from Albstadt under the leadership of Rainer Gunsch-Boss. This acquisition, as per FUCHS CEO Stefan Fuchs, not only enriches their expertise but also expands their specialty solutions portfolio, particularly for future markets like medical and safety technology.
Boss Lubricants had 20 employees and roughly EUR 7 million in sales in 2023. Meanwhile, the FUCHS Group, with 6,200 employees, reported EUR 3.5 billion in sales in the same year.
