Flughafen Wien AG Reports Robust Growth in First Quarter of 2024

Flughafen Wien AG experienced substantial growth in its first quarter of 2024, marked by significant increases in passenger numbers and improved financial performance. The company reported handling 7.6 million passengers across its operations, a 13.8% rise from the previous year. Financially, revenue increased by 16.6% to €210.3 million, and the group's net profit surged by 48.9% to €37.2 million.

The positive trend is projected to continue, with Flughafen Wien AG forecasting about 39 million passengers and over €1 billion in revenue for the full year of 2024. The airport operator has benefitted from high levels of cost discipline and ongoing travel enthusiasm. Notable capital investments are also being planned, focusing on infrastructure enhancements including a significant €200 million investment in the Southern Expansion terminal project and other development activities.
