Flughafen Wien AG Sees Positive Q1 2026 Despite Challenges

Flughafen Wien AG reported a revenue increase of 6.1% to €239.6 million in Q1 2026, alongside a 5.3% rise in Group net profit, reaching €42.0 million. This positive business development was driven by passenger growth of 5.3% within the group and 1.6% at Vienna Airport. Despite challenges such as reduced offerings by low-cost carriers and geopolitical crises, the company maintains a stable forecast for the year.

Vienna Airport faced a 1.5% decline in passenger traffic from January to April 2026, while traffic for the entire Flughafen Wien Group rose by 2.9%. Significant investments are planned, including €1.5 billion by 2030, targeting expansions in Vienna and Malta. The future includes new destinations with summer schedules expanding to around 200 locations.
