Fireaway Receives Certifications for Stat-X Fire-Extinguishing Systems
Fireaway Inc. announced that its Stat-X® condensed aerosol fire-extinguishing systems have secured type approval from Bureau Veritas. The approval, achieved through MSC.1/Circ.1270 evaluation, includes three certificates applicable globally, within the EU, and the UK.
The global Bureau Veritas Type Approval Certificate confirms compliance with SOLAS 74 and IMO standards, valid until October 2030. EU and UK certificates, under respective marine equipment regulations, extend validity until April 2031. These certifications endorse Stat-X systems for use in SOLAS-regulated marine environments.
Lance Harry, Fireaway's president and CEO, highlighted that the approval validates Stat-X’s ability to meet SOLAS requirements for marine applications. The approval covers 15 generator models designed for enclosed marine spaces. Installations need further review by classification societies and flag administrations.
