Final Contract Between Sport1 Medien AG and ACUNMEDYA Concluded
ACUNMEDYA has completed its acquisition of 50 percent of the shares in Sport1 GmbH. The transaction, agreed upon in February, finalized today.
Sport1 Medien AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Highlight Communications AG, which is 53.39% owned by Highlight Event and Entertainment AG, partnered with the international media group ACUNMEDYA, based in Istanbul. As part of the agreement, the two entities will streamline leadership, with Dr. Matthias Kirschenhofer becoming the sole Managing Director of Sport1 GmbH, while Robin Seckler remains Co-CEO of Sport1 Medien AG alongside Kirschenhofer.
The deal also includes a content partnership aimed at bringing popular sports entertainment formats from ACUNMEDYA to German free-TV on SPORT1. The German adaptation of the sports reality show EXATLON will premiere in September.
