Eurobattery Minerals Submits EU Strategic Project Application for Hautalampi
Stockholm, 21 August 2024 – Eurobattery Minerals AB announced the submission of its Hautalampi battery mineral project for EU Strategic Project status under the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). The European Commission is expected to reveal the first list of Strategic Projects in December 2024.
The Hautalampi project focuses on nickel, cobalt, and copper, crucial for batteries and renewable energy technologies. Significant advancements have been made in resource estimation and environmental management. The company also signed an agreement for photovoltaic energy, aligning with carbon-zero production goals.
CEO Roberto García-Martínez highlighted the project's potential to support the EU's green transition and reduce dependency on external sources. The project is strategically located 345 km from Helsinki, benefiting from local mining support and proximity to the EV battery manufacturing market.
