Energiekontor Commissions Scottish Pines Burn Wind Park

Energiekontor AG, a prominent German developer of renewable energy projects, has successfully commissioned the Scottish Pines Burn wind park. Initially sold to Capital Dynamics in 2022, Energiekontor will now manage its operations. Situated in the Scottish Borders, the subsidy-free wind park boasts a total capacity of 33.6 megawatts. The site houses seven Nordex N133 wind turbines, each with a 4.8-megawatt capacity.

The wind park is expected to generate approximately 92 gigawatt hours of electricity annually, meeting around eight percent of Sainsbury's energy needs. This development marks the third collaboration between Energiekontor and Capital Dynamics. Both companies emphasize the project's role in advancing the UK towards its Net Zero targets.

Energiekontor's CEO, Peter Szabo, highlights the project's completion as a testament to collaboration with local communities and ongoing partnership with Capital Dynamics and Sainsbury's. This venture reinforces Energiekontor's commitment to expanding its renewable energy pipeline in Scotland.
