Elmos Semiconductor Completes Sale of Dortmund Wafer Fab
Elmos Semiconductor SE has finalized the sale of its Dortmund wafer fab to Littelfuse, Inc. for 93 million euros. This transaction marks the completion of Elmos' transition to a fabless company model. Effective December 31, 2024, the Dortmund Semiconductor GmbH entity is now under the ownership of Littelfuse.
The agreement, signed in June 2023, includes a multi-year capacity sharing arrangement between Elmos and Littelfuse, lasting until 2029, ensuring adequate production capacities for Elmos. The sale received approvals from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and the Federal Cartel Office in mid-2023.
With this transition, Elmos plans to strengthen its focus on automotive IC applications. CEO Dr. Arne Schneider expressed optimism about leveraging innovative technologies for the company's growth.
