DKSH Expands Life Science Operations in Malaysia with Elite Organic Acquisition

DKSH Management Ltd. has announced the acquisition of Malaysian company Elite Organic Sdn. Bhd., a move aimed at expanding its Performance Materials business in the life sciences sector. This acquisition strengthens DKSH's capabilities in pharmaceuticals, foods, and nutraceuticals, reinforcing its status as a leading distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients in Asia Pacific.

Elite Organic, with a historical precedence of around 30 years, has been a reliable supplier for premier pharmaceutical, health supplement, and food manufacturers in Malaysia and Singapore. The company, operational since 1995, has been synonymous with providing valuable ingredients and services, fostering relationships with world-renowned manufacturers from Europe, the US, Japan, and Asia.

With Elite Organic recording net sales over CHF 5 million and demonstrating profitability, DKSH plans to fully incorporate the business into its existing operations. Phoon Khye Wang, President at Elite Organic, and Thomas Sul along with Natale Capri, Co-Heads Business Unit Performance Materials at DKSH, have both expressed optimism for the future, highlighting the acquisition's potential to enhance their positions in the life science industry.

The transaction is anticipated to close in the second quarter of 2024, subject to standard closing conditions. This strategic acquisition not only signifies DKSH's commitment to expanding its life science business but also its intention to strengthen its market presence in Asia Pacific.
