DIGITAL, Canada’s Global Innovation Cluster, is co-investing $3.5M in Novamera’s Surgical Mining initiative. This technology, powered by AI, combines new tools with conventional drilling equipment to extract ore efficiently, reducing environmental impact by 95%. This method aims to unlock stranded deposits to support the clean energy transition.
Novamera’s CEO, Dustin Angelo, emphasizes the need for mining in the clean energy transition, highlighting technology and innovation as crucial. DIGITAL’s CEO, Sue Paish, notes the potential of AI in advancing environmental health and supporting the transition to a net-zero future.
The project, involving Great Atlantic Resources and Maritime Resources, aims to complete by 2025, showcasing Novamera’s technologies and their economic and environmental benefits.
