Deutsche Bank Settles Majority of Postbank Takeover Lawsuit

Frankfurt am Main, 21 August 2024 - Deutsche Bank has made significant progress in resolving the litigation concerning its takeover of Postbank. The bank has reached settlements with over 80 plaintiffs, representing almost 60 per cent of the total claims. These settlements were made at a price of 31 euros per share.

The largest individual plaintiff, representing about one third of all claims, is among those who agreed to the settlement. Deutsche Bank expects the settlements to use up approximately 45 per cent of the total provisions set aside for this litigation. The remaining provisions will be released, leading to an estimated positive impact of 430 million euros on the bank's pre-tax profit for the third quarter.

Further settlements with additional plaintiffs could result in more positive effects on the total provisions reserved for the case.
