DEAG Acquires Majority Stake in ShowPlanr to Enhance UK Market Presence

DEAG Deutsche Entertainment Aktiengesellschaft, a prominent name in the international entertainment sector, announced its acquisition of a majority stake in ShowPlanr, a leading UK event organizer. This strategic move is executed through DEAG's UK subsidiary, Flying Music, owned by KMJ Entertainment Ltd., marking a significant step in DEAG's expansion and consolidation in the UK market. The acquisition aims to generate synergy effects across ticketing and live entertainment domains, leveraging collaborations with DEAG's other UK subsidiaries.

ShowPlanr, established in 2010, has made its mark by organizing over 600 annual events, including tours, concerts, and theatre performances, selling approximately 250,000 tickets. This acquisition not only enriches DEAG's portfolio but also enhances its ticketing capabilities, allowing direct event ticket purchases via DEAG's platforms, myticket.co.uk, gigantic.com, and tickets.ie. Chris Jenkins, the founder of ShowPlanr, will continue his leadership role, ensuring the company's ongoing success and growth within the DEAG family.

Officials from both companies have expressed their enthusiasm for the future, highlighting the potential for introducing new events and tapping into new markets. The partnership is seen as a bolster to DEAG's strategy of increasing its share of self-produced event formats, known for generating higher profitability.
