DATAGROUP Introduces Electronic Files for BAföG in Education Support Offices

Pliezhausen, 4 June 2024. DATAGROUP, a leading provider of specialized software for BAföG applications, has introduced electronic files. This solution enables users to process records digitally, fostering mobile work and automation processes. This marks a significant step in the digitalization of student finance, with the potential to fully digitize document delivery in the future.

DATAGROUP has implemented an integrated electronic file system for BAföG applications at an initial education support office. Already a leading provider for processing student support schemes across Germany, DATAGROUP's software is used by Studierendenwerke and municipal offices. This innovation enhances digitalization efforts and lays the groundwork for future automation in educational support.

The electronic file system allows digital access to documents, supporting mobile work. Scanned paper documents are integrated into the process legally, allowing for their subsequent destruction. Electronic receipt of documents eliminates the need for printing, reducing workload and promoting sustainability. This development, supported by the Studierendenwerk Darmstadt, includes plans for the digital delivery of official correspondence via BundID accounts, moving away from paper and postal delivery.

Ben Kopfer, Head of Student Finance & IT at Studierendenwerk Darmstadt, noted that the electronic files enhance the efficiency of BAföG application processing, contributing significantly to accelerating the overall process.
