This service, known as Value Acceptance + Property Data, aims to expand appraisal waiver benefits to more borrowers while accurately assessing property conditions.

Fannie Mae highlights several advantages of this program for lenders, notably reducing origination time and costs for borrowers, promoting financial safety by ensuring current property observations, and offering operational simplicity. Fannie Mae's data reveals that appraisal waivers helped borrowers save around $2.1 billion between 2020 and 2022, offering some financial relief amid rising rates and high home prices.
