Danone reaches agreement on plastics with three NGOs

On February 21, 2025, Danone and the NGOs ClientEarth, Surfrider Foundation Europe and Zero Waste France announced the end of their legal proceedings regarding Danone's vigilance plan on the use of plastics. This decision follows a mediation process ordered by the Paris Judicial Court, initiated by a legal action by these NGOs in January 2023.

The agreement reached has made it possible to enrich Danone's vigilance plan, by detailing the consequences of the use of plastic packaging and the actions planned in this area. Danone affirms its commitment to the reduction, reuse, recycling and recovery of plastics, in accordance with its status as a Mission-Driven Company.

Both parties highlighted the importance of dialogue to address systemic challenges related to the circular economy. This agreement marks a further step for Danone in its environmental strategy.
