The announcement comes as Jody Dahrouge steps down from the role to continue serving as a Director within the company. Schmidt, with a robust background in geological consulting and a focus on rare earth elements and rare metals, brings over a decade of experience to his new position at Commerce.

His track record includes notable discoveries such as the Ashram Rare Earth Element and Fluorspar Deposit and several others, showcasing his expertise in the field. Chris Grove, President and CEO of Commerce, expressed excitement for Schmidt's addition to the executive team, highlighting his longstanding involvement with the company since 2008. Darren L. Smith, Senior Technical Advisor, also praised Schmidt's significant contributions to the exploration and development of the company's properties.
