This leap forward correlates with China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), pushing the Chengdu-Chongqing region as a significant sci-tech innovation center.
The Western (Chengdu) Science City is pivotal in this transformation, housing national laboratories and innovation centers. A total of 96 national innovation platforms, including the National Precision Medicine Industrial Innovation Center, have been established. Chengdu also launched 65 collaborative projects with research institutions.
Future industries, such as humanoid robotics, were prioritized, with a substantial 100 billion yuan fund supporting hard-tech startups. Moreover, Chengdu's online and offline service systems have facilitated innovation commercialization, serving companies over 200,000 times.
Chengdu's initiatives include an intelligent safety network for infrastructure, enhancing urban living with AI-powered solutions.
