Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. Launches 12C Methane QG Diamond for Quantum Applications
Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) has released a highly enriched 12C methane with low nitrogen levels, named 12C Methane QG Diamond™. This product is designed for quantum applications, particularly in the field of color and nitrogen vacancy (NV) CVD diamonds. The enriched 12C methane will benefit researchers focusing on quantum studies, developers of diamonds with specific color attributes, and industrial diamond producers.
Joel Louette, leading business development for Emerging Markets at CIL, stated that the production of NV diamonds requires a high 12C concentration with minimal nitrogen content. CIL’s new product offers 12C enrichment of at least 99.99% and nitrogen levels below 1 part per million.
CIL has over forty years of expertise in separating 13C isotopes via cryogenic distillation. This experience has enabled them to develop a new 12C separation system swiftly, transitioning from design to operation in under three years.
Quantum magnetometers based on NV diamonds hold potential for advancements in fields such as inertial navigation, electric vehicle batteries, healthcare, internet security, and brain-to-machine interfaces.
