Cambridge Heartwear Secures £184 Million NHS Contract for ECG Wearable

Cambridge Heartwear Limited has announced a significant achievement with the award of a £184 million contract from the UK's National Health Service (NHS). This contract focuses on HeartSense®, a cutting-edge medical-grade wearable ECG device that is wirelessly charged and reusable. This device represents a major stride in medical technology, combining diagnostic-grade ECG monitoring and artificial intelligence.

The agreement will facilitate the deployment of this advanced cardiac technology across the NHS's primary and secondary care. HeartSense® offers real-time ECG data accessible on mobile phones, enabling patients to monitor their heart health conveniently at home, thus aiding early diagnosis and prevention of heart-related conditions such as heart failure and strokes.

Developed and manufactured in the UK, HeartSense® is designed to enhance women's cardiovascular care and has received UKCA approval, with pending FDA applications. Cambridge Heartwear, founded by Professor Rameen Shakur, aims to transform heart health monitoring through advanced engineering and AI.
