Callahan Construction Managers Achieve LEED Gold Certification for Waltham Lab Space

Callahan Construction Managers, a Massachusetts-based full-service construction firm, recently announced their 300 Third Avenue project in Waltham has attained LEED Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. This four-story, 139,000 square foot facility, nestled in the Rt. 128 Tech Corridor, integrates top-notch office and laboratory spaces.

In collaboration with Lincoln Property Company and DiMella Shaffer Architects, Callahan managed this highly configurable project designed to cater to both office and laboratory needs. Besides its prime location and accessibility to Boston’s public transportation, this facility stands out for its sustainable design, including electric car charging stations, bicycle storage, and showers, contributing to reduced carbon footprints and road traffic.

In addition to ecological efficiency, 300 Third Avenue also garnered WiredScore Gold Certification, confirming its high-standard digital infrastructure supports current and future technological demands. Emphasizing sustainable construction, Callahan also employs 30 Passive House Certified professionals contributing to the project’s success.

Steve Callahan Jr., VP of Business Development at Callahan, highlighted the dual benefits of this development saying it meets the contemporary market’s need for adaptable and environmentally conscious buildings while prioritizing employee well-being.
