The German Bundeswehr’s Digitalisierung Landbasierte Operationen (D-LBO), a €20 billion modernization endeavor, faces significant issues. Reports indicate major setbacks in the installation of digital radios, deemed unfit for military use during tests. This complex retrofitting task involves approximately 16,000 Bundeswehr vehicles, making interoperability with NATO allies challenging. External consultants are enlisted to address these issues, though skepticism remains about their effectiveness.
