Bell Racing First to Obtain New FIA 8859-2024 Helmet Standard
Racing Force Group, a leader in motorsport safety equipment, announced that its Bell Racing brand has achieved the FIA 8859-2024 homologation for racing helmets. This standard is effective immediately.
Established in 1954, Bell Racing has been a pioneer in helmet technology, introducing innovations like energy-absorbing liners, full-face and fire-retardant helmets, and anti-fog shields. The brand's history includes being first to homologate an FIA 8860-certified helmet in 2019, the current standard in Formula 1.
The latest achievement, designated as PH001, showcases the efforts of the research and development team at their headquarters in Sakhir, Bahrain, near the Bahrain International Circuit. This new standard will upgrade the entire range of MAG open face helmets for various racing formats.
Andy Mellor, Group Chief Technical Officer, expressed pride in being the first to meet the new standards, highlighting the ongoing commitment to driver safety and performance since Bell's inception. He stated that this milestone will solidify Bell Racing's market leadership.
