BASF Group's Preliminary 2024 Financial Figures Released
BASF SE has announced its preliminary financial results for the full year 2024. The Group's EBITDA before special items reached €7.9 billion, aligning with analyst expectations but slightly below BASF's own forecast of €8.0 billion. A notable highlight is the free cash flow, which stands at €0.7 billion, surpassing both analyst consensus and BASF's estimates.
The company's sales for 2024 are expected to be €65.3 billion, slightly down from €68.9 billion in 2023, attributed to declined sales prices despite increased volumes. Currency effects negatively affected this performance. Cash flow from operations is projected at €6.9 billion, down from €8.1 billion in 2023.
The EBIT is reported at €2.0 billion, below analysts’ expectations and last year’s figure, significantly impacted by non-cash impairments and restructuring costs. Special items account for minus €1.9 billion. The net income will likely surpass 2023's €225 million, though falling short of the €2.2 billion analyst consensus.
