AUSTRIACARD Produces Jaywan Payment Cards for Wio Bank in UAE

AUSTRIACARD HOLDINGS has successfully manufactured and delivered the first Jaywan payment cards to Wio Bank PJSC in the UAE. This move supports the expansion of the UAE's domestic card system, enhancing the country's payments infrastructure. Jaywan, a scheme launched by Al Etihad Payments under the National Payment Systems Strategy, aims to bolster the resilience and efficiency of the UAE's financial ecosystem.

The cards were produced at AUSTRIACARD's Bucharest facility, integrating secure card manufacturing with Wio Bank's digital banking platform. This collaboration enables Wio customers to access Jaywan scheme-issued payment products, signaling a commitment to secure, high-quality solutions.

Burak Bilge, AUSTRIACARD's EVP for Türkiye, the Middle East, and Africa, emphasized the priority of supporting national card schemes and praised the partnership with Wio Bank. Prateek Vahie, Chief Commercial Officer at Wio Bank, highlighted the effort's alignment with the UAE's national payments strategy and digital-first banking focus.
