Another Record Growth in waipu.tv Customers - 2024 Guidance Confirmed

Freenet AG has reported a 3.3% increase in group revenues to EUR 1,198 million for the first half of 2024. The net new subscriber growth for waipu.tv in Q2 2024 was 191.0 thousand, surpassing the total for the first half of 2023. The total number of freenet subscribers increased to 9.808 million from 9.493 million at year-end 2023.

Despite increased investments, Group EBITDA and free cash flow did not exceed last year's levels. The Executive Board confirms the 2024 guidance with expected EBITDA between EUR 495-515 million and free cash flow between EUR 260-280 million.

Mobile Communications segment revenues rose to EUR 1,002.1 million, driven by a 1.3% increase in service revenues. Segment EBITDA was EUR 209.4 million, up by 1.8%. In the TV and Media segment, waipu.tv saw strong customer growth, leading to a 15.9% increase in revenues to EUR 192.3 million, despite a decline in freenet TV customers.
