AGRANA: Challenging Market Environment Weighs on Results in Financial First Quarter

In the financial first quarter of 2024/25, AGRANA reported a revenue decline to €944.3 million from €966.1 million in the prior year. EBIT also saw a significant fall to €32.3 million, marking a 49.1% decrease. The EBIT margin dropped to 3.4%, compared to 6.6% in the same period last year. Profit for the period was down to €16.1 million from €38.0 million.

The Fruit segment saw a revenue increase of 3.6% to €415.6 million, with EBIT rising to €27.0 million. The Starch segment experienced a revenue drop of 16.3% to €265.5 million, and EBIT fell drastically to €9.4 million. The Sugar segment reported a revenue increase of 6.2% to €263.2 million but had an EBIT deficit of €4.1 million.

AGRANA anticipates a significant reduction in operating profit (EBIT) and a moderate decrease in group revenue for the full 2024/25 financial year.
