Beijing Art Season 2026 Concludes with Record Public Engagement

Beijing Art Season 2026 ended on June 15, after a month filled with exhibitions, forums, and performances. The event, themed "Art Gathers in Beijing, Harmony Embraces All," saw participation from cultural institutions in over 20 countries. Over 400 events attracted 1.269 million visits to the 798 Art District and generated more than RMB 10 million in economic activity.

This year's highlight was the integration of Beijing's gallery and auction markets. Gallery Weekend Beijing celebrated its 10th anniversary with 61 exhibitions, while Beijing Dangdai Art Fair featured 144 exhibitors. Auction houses recorded sales nearing RMB 500 million, bolstering Beijing's global art market status.

International cultural exchange was central, with programs including a children's art exhibition supported by UNESCO. The festival also engaged state enterprises, expanding art into public spaces and boosting cultural tourism through innovative initiatives.
